Doctors and Technicians

Dr. Ben Yanofsky, VMD

A native of New Hampshire, Dr. Ben Yanofsky grew up with a strong love of all animals, having not only cats and dogs as pets, but guinea pigs, salamanders, hedgehogs, ferrets, a snake, and a fat tailed gecko. It was this love of animals that propelled Dr. Ben’s drive to study animals in college, which took him to University of Miami’s competitive Marine Biology program. After undergrad, Dr. Ben went on to complete his Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Between completing his degrees, Dr. Ben spent time traveling and furthering his education with externships that took him all over the world to work with animals in both Africa and Asia. While doing this, Dr. Ben was fortunate enough to work with a variety of wildlife and exotics.

Dr. Ben next took on the role of an emergency and critical care physician at EVH in Ann Arbor, Michigan for several years. He met his wife, Stephanie, while working in Michigan and together they decided to move back to New Hampshire to settle in closer to his family. Dr. Ben’s work in emergency and critical care continued to grow, as he took his talents to SAVES in Lebanon, NH.

As the new owner of Linwood Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Ben is consistent, patient, and bringing quality modern medicine to the Linwood community. While Dr. Ben is happy to offer his expertise in emergency care and exotics at our facility, he is also highly skilled in general surgery and dentistry.

Outside of work he enjoys hiking, fishing, and spending time with his wife and their three dogs.

Sam Keeney

Sam is one year shy of a decade in the vet tech industry! Born and raised in central New Hampshire, she strives to build positive relationships with our clients. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is assisting clients in maintaining routine care for their pets, especially dental cleanings.

When Sam is not at the clinic, you can find her hiking, crafting, or hanging with her pets Howard (kitty) and Marley (Mastiff cross).

Kristene Klepser

Kristene was born and raised locally right here in Lincoln, New Hampshire. She studied Equine Science in upstate New York before finishing her undergraduate degree in Montana. She is a certified veterinary assistant and currently enrolled in a veterinary technician program to continue her education. With a special interest in surgical and emergent medical care, Kristene’s technical skills round out our tech team!

Aside from animals, her interest are traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family.

If you’re lucky, you’ll catch Reed, Kristene’s Rottie mix, hanging around the clinic.

Stephanie Yanofsky

After a decade in finance, Stephanie’s passion for animals lead her to make a career change to veterinary medicine. Our newest technician, she’s quickly learning the ropes and has a keen interest in animal behavior. Stephanie holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Clinical Psychology from Central Michigan University.

She relocated from Michigan with her husband, Dr. Ben Yanofsky, and loves living in the beautiful state of New Hampshire! When she’s not at the clinic, she’s hanging with her Samoyeds (Ivan and Boris), crafting, or reading.

Abigail Downing

Abby, who was raised in Ashland, NH, grew up with horses and knew she wanted wanted to work in animal care from a young age. She loves working at Linwood Veterinary Clinic and learning new things about both the medical side, and about our clients and their pets.

When Abby isn’t at work with us, you can find her outside four-wheeling with friends or hanging with her horses or her kitten Melvin the Meatball.

Lisa MacKay

Lisa, our resident bear guru, has been with us seasonally for three years. For the last 16 years, Lisa has been dedicated to caring for the bears at Clark’s Trading Post, so each spring season we say good-bye and await her return in autumn.

Lisa’s interests are building client relationships and education for clients who have questions on animal and/or veterinary care.

On warm nights, Lisa can be found in town with her husband on walks with her dogs Kubota, Roxy, and Tucker.
